Strength in Members
Recent phone calls by members of the Executive Committee with the general CHAS membership revealed great pride of membership. We learned that two members are approaching their 50th anniversaries with CHAS and another member is approaching her 40th year of belonging and enthusiastically committing her time, energy, skills and ideas to the work of CHAS!
CHAS currently has 71 Active Members and 7 Honorary Life Members who might attend our monthly General Meetings. Among these members are 10 Past Presidents! Active Members not only assist with planning and holding fundraising events throughout the year (such as a Golf Tournament, a Bridge Luncheon, a Holiday Luncheon as well as other creative “of the moment” events), but they are also involved in committee work and volunteering to support other organizations with hands on activities that help children.
An Honorary Life Member (HLM) is a member who has been selected for outstanding service and dedication to CHAS. She is exempt from paying yearly membership dues and is not required to attend regular monthly meetings, yet many HLMs choose to pay membership dues, continue to attend our monthly meetings and contribute in many ways to the work of CHAS. Our HLM’s and other long-time members remind us of how CHAS has evolved and grown in strength of commitment to children through the years. They also mentor other CHAS members, ask important questions at our meetings, and help us to continue building the CHAS culture of care and friendship.
CHAS is powered by our membership, and we are proud to belong to this group of passionate, enthusiastic and committed women.
